I study how AI is designed, adapted, and used by real people in real environments, and whether it actually serves them.
My work sits at the intersection of computing, education, and human-centered systems. A central thread running through all of it is what I call modeling translation: turning theoretical and computational ideas into systems people can genuinely use and learn from. Through system prototyping, mixed-methods research, and human-in-the-loop evaluation, I explore how adaptive technologies perform under real-world constraints, particularly in AI-enabled learning technologies, intelligent tutoring systems, computational literacies, and culturally responsive computing.
While education is my primary domain, the deeper question driving my research is simpler: who does this technology actually work for, and who does it leave out?
